Pat Born Smith

Pat Born Smith, semi-retired, has been a grantwriter at IGE since 2003. In 1994, she established IGE's Education Program and, from 1994-2000, she was also Executive Vice President of the Institute. While at IGE, she authored several curriculums, including Building Decision Skills, Ethics and Choices, and Ethics and Service. She delivered seminars and training to education, business, and nonprofit clients, and developed and managed, with Dr. Kidder, the Institute's Train-the-Trainer program. She also managed a number of education research projects. Prior to joining the Institute, she was Deputy Director at a Maine Area Agency on Aging and Contract Services Unit Manager at the Maine Department of Human Services.

She has an MA in International Relations from UC Berkeley and and MPA from the University of Maine.
