– From a new report by the Union of Concerned Scientists accusing oil giant ExxonMobil of misleading the public about the seriousness of global warming. The report accuses the firm of using “many of the tactics, and even some of the same organizations and actors” used in the “tobacco industry’s 40-year disinformation campaign.” ExxonMobil called the report “deeply offensive and wrong,” saying the company simply promotes “discussion on issues of direct relevance to the company.”
