The Institute for Global Ethics announced today the appointment of Marc
B. Poland as a Director of the Institute, effective immediately.
“I am pleased to announce that the Board of Directors of the Institute
for Global Ethics, by unanimous vote, has approved the recommendation
that Marc be appointed as a Director of the Institute,” said Paul
McAuliffe, Chairman of IGE’s Board of Directors. “I and the
other members of the Board, as well as IGE President and CEO Anthony Gray,
are thrilled that Marc will be joining us in the mission to move the important
work of the Institute forward. Marc’s skills, experience and commitment
to the cause will be a great addition to our team.”
Mr. Poland recently retired from Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, where
he served as the Vice President, Marketing and Communications. While at
United Technologies, Marc served as mentor to IGE CEO, Anthony J. Gray,
as Mr. Gray managed Sikorsky's global ethics and compliance program.
Since his retirement, Mr. Poland keeps busy as a partner in the development
of High Cove, an intentional community in Western North Carolina, dedicated
to the principles of life-long learning and sustainable development. Mr.
Poland holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Georgetown
University and a Bachelor of Science – Mechanical Engineering degree
from Carnegie-Mellon University.
