The Institute for Global Ethics Welcomes Its Inaugural Law Clerk

(Madison, Wis.) The Institute for Global Ethics (IGE) continues to bring depth and expertise to the organization with its newest addition, Brittney Mitchell.

Mitchell joins the team as the Institute’s first law clerk. She comes to IGE with a unique ethical decision-making background in both communication and law. The Institute is excited about its new addition and the skill set she brings to the organization.

“Brittney’s background in communication, specifically journalism and public relations, makes her a great complement to our current team,” said IGE’s President and CEO, Anthony J. Gray. “We are fortunate to have hired a new team member who will not only help the organization with her legal savvy, but also add value in interactions with the press and key stakeholders.”

Mitchell is a current Juris Doctor candidate at Marquette University Law School in

Milwaukee, Wis. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Journalism and Mass Communication. As an undergraduate, she worked as a journalist for the Wisconsin School of Business and as a teaching fellow for the University.

While working in the communication field, she witnessed numerous ethical dilemmas. Observing how individuals worked through these dilemmas sparked her interest in joining the IGE team.

“Having sound ethical decision making skills is not only key to being a good journalist, but also key to being a good lawyer,” said Mitchell. “I am thrilled to clerk for an organization with such a strong commitment to spreading ethical fitness throughout society.”

Mitchell joins the team through a partnership between IGE and the Wisconsin State Bar’s Diversity Clerkship Program. The Institute looks forward to a continued partnership with the Wisconsin State Bar and supporting diversity through such endeavors.
